January to March 2009
I am certifiably the worst blogger mom ever! I have an aversion toward technology, but know it serves it's amazing purposes. So here's a little catch up on the first of 2009 for me and my family, I plan on doing a lot of posts to catch me up. It definitely encompasses a very, very small part of all that we have done, I'm starting from the beginning of the year and going to about March, so here we go:

I rarely put photos of myself in my blog, but when I took this I had hit a new lowest
weight for me (my Junior year in Highschool weight). I was so excited and feeling
so great! THEN, I found out I was pregnant with baby #5 the next week!
This was a highlight of the circus for the kids to ride the elephant with dad!
February 9th 2009London woke up to a bike for her 5th birthday!
She wanted it to rain gumballs on her birthday so Dax and Daddy got a hold of the genie at Disneyland to grant her wish for her, so it really did rain gumballs for her birthday!

I took her on a special date with her friend Seraphine to get their nails done, shop at the mall, and go to Chuck E Cheese, what a day!
Little Pearl's birthday was 5 days later on February 14th, yes Valentines Day.
We can't believe our Pearl Valentine has already blessed our lives for a whole year.
We still had our Valentines date that evening after we celebrated Pearl's birthday! We chose Red Lobster and did not regret it, we had a great time together. I just love this man more and more!

The Melting Pot in Salt Lake with Paul's mom Jo Ann and her very serious boyfriend Jim. We laughed a lot and enjoyed getting to know Jim better. We can already hear the wedding bells going off for these two!

Christmas Morning!
We are going to work backwards to cover all the events in December because of course the highlight was Christmas morning! We had such a fun month full of family and celebrating Christ's birth.
Spot the troubled child. Evelyn went downstairs to see what Santa got before everyone was ready, so she was pretty upset when we took her away from the gifts for a picture.

London had so much fun with her cupcake maker, and made a beautiful mess with it!
Whoever says girls are not born with the desire to love and have children is crazy! All you mothers of girls who love having baby dolls know that! It's always amazing to me!
Yes, Pearl is 10 1/2 months and is walking for her primary mode of transportation now and talking up a storm!! I can't even explain how fun she is for our family right now!
Paul got what he loves so much, Redskins attire (His dad played for the redskins many a year ago), and Dax felt that dad really needed some oil, it was a cute father/son gift!
Grandma Adams had a hayday buying the kids gifts, and they are very grateful for it! Yeah for Grandparents!!
Santa HAD to bring matching outfits for the Adams' girls! It's just a must when there are 3 girls in a row!! We LOVE our sweet girlies!!

Paul got these crazy expensive Scott goggles from his brother Chris and even though we were just going for a family sledding trip, he HAD to wear them because they're sooo cool!
Our Adams family Christmas party was so fun! We had a great time eating, singing Christmas carols, gift exchanges, and making reindeer cookies! Since I'm the room mom for Daxton's Kindergarten class I have to keep Christmas craft and snack ideas handy!
Some of the Adams family cousins! When they were not sitting down here they were definitely running.
We love to do our trip to see Aunt Deanna before Christmas. She spoiled the kids with little gifts and treats! She has always been such a giving, loving Aunt who always remembers the little ones. My kids always ask to go to her house.
We got a lot of snow Christmas week, it was awesome! As you can see, Dax lost his first front tooth! It has definitely changed his smile, he was so excited. The cardboard doll is a little guy named Stanley that was sent from his best friend cousin Tiffany as a school project. We are going to send him back to Tiffany's school explaining all about Pleasant Grove, Utah.
This picture is exactly what they do all day together! They love to laugh and play!
London and Seraphine have been very best friends from the first day of preschool.
See if you can spot Dax! (hint: he's in the back row middle with a black hat) The kindergarten classes did the CUTEST snowman dance I have ever seen!! Plus, Dax is in choir and it was so fun to see him singing so many cute songs that he had been practicing every Tuesday and Thursday morning for. I love our little hometown Elementary school!
Paul and I at the ward Christmas party. Our family was in charge of the Nativity reenactment portion of the entertainment and it turned out so beautiful! Everyone said it was their favorite part of the whole night. I regret that I didn't get a picture of the kids in their costumes because we were running around crazy!

Life is so beautiful and full of hope because of our Savior, each day truly is a gift! We are so grateful for all of our family and friends in our lives. Thank you for all your Christmas pictures and cards we love to see how all your lives are changing!
2008 has been amazing we've welcomed our fourth baby into the world, celebrated 8 happy years of marriage and love, lost teeth, got teeth, lost a job, got new jobs, watched children grow immensely, did a San Diego/Disneyland trip with Ben and Steph's family, participated in baby blessings, soccer games, T-ball games, made new friends, lost a friend to cystic fibrosis, stood by friends after difficult brain surgeries and their aftermath, welcomed 2 nieces and one great-nephew in to our families, went to the big Olsen reunion (we love to see Dallin Oaks there, we feel so blessed to have such great apostle in our family), did many house improvements, sold a car, and so so much more!

What happened after it began!
Okay, our last post talked about how Paul and I were starting the Take Shape for Life Plan. The Result???
Paul lost 5 pounds last week and I am down 4 pounds!! And this is only on the modified plan.
The biggest bonus for me was I didn't have to take my 3:00 nap to get me through the day. My energy has been way up! I hadn't even thought about that perk until I looked back at how my week went.
One more pound and I'm at the skinniest I've been in my whole marriage (5 pounds below my wedding weight too)except for one time when I was deathly ill for a week. I am LOVING feeling healthy and energetic.
I will keep updating on our family of course, plus Paul's definite change that will continue to take place!
For now, we wish all of you, our family and friends a Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year!
It Begins!
So Paul has begun the Take Shape for Life Plan as of today and we are going to keep posting his transformation! Most of my family on my mom's side have lost considerable weight on this healthy, doctor formulated plan so we're excited! I am a free health coach for them, so anyone that's wanting to lose a lot of weight or even those last 5-10 pounds that you just have never been able to get rid of, you can call me. It's been really fun to see so many peoples lives change from it! My parents have lost 80 pounds together in the last 3 months! My uncle started it 10 days ago and is down 17 pounds! Yes, it's healthy and there is longevity too so it stays off. Just watch the blog, we'll be posting his weight loss!!
November in a Nutshell!
Well, we had a blast in November, Paul and I had a great anniversary at P.F Changs and then we did a little shopping with no kids, it was awesome!

Holy cow this is old, our first Christmas together!
Wow, I feel so blessed today! Well, really everyday because I truly believe I married the best man in the world for me! Paul, thank you for making me laugh everyday for the past eight years (and even since I was 14 years old)! Thank you for wrestling with our beautiful children, giving them rides to their beds every night, being faithful and diligent in the gospel and bearing testimony to our kids and I. Thank you for making me feel so absolutely loved, wanted, and needed as a wife, for being so protective of all in the house. Thank you for always striving to be a better man, and for being the best teammate I could EVER ask for. Thank you for jumping on the trampoline, playing football, and going on walks with me. Thanks for changing diapers, making bottles, loving, kissing, and malling our kids because you are so in love with them. Thank you for being the best young men leader, an amazing son and brother to your siblings. Thank you for being a very talented provider, and I could go on and on!!

Really, I'm just trying to say, thank you for being mine. You truly are the best thing that happened to me. I feel so confident in our love and faith, and in our eternal marriage we have built so strong with Heavens help!

Good John gets hitched
Well, it was about that time.. I thought all my friends were married, but no, one still remains. Actually a couple do-- now that I think of it. Anyway, in short- I got to go and get full off of free food and dessert.
Although it was brief, Rach and I took the day off, dropped the kids at a professional sitter, and headed off to the Lords house in SLC. It was a ton of fun. There is nothing like feeling like kids again, when you can go downtown to a bustling city with your sweetheart, be running late, and have fun doing it. Parking-- nuff said. Bleh.
Anyway while we made it just in time (about 5 min before JD & his newly wed bride Jen walked in) and it was a great sealing.
Ok, so hear is my rant, soapbox, or whatever you want to call it -- While we were going into, and out of the temple, there were two... for the lack of a better term, "panhandlers" asking for "spare change?" or, in a quivering almost to the brink of tears voice "please, anything you can spare... PLEASE..."
I caught myself brushing them both off, in my normal manner when I remembered where I was going. Yeeeah, like a ton of bricks people. Then the thought came, WWJD? Also remember, the only cash I had on me was a $10 and a $20. As I turned around, Rachel had already stopped and was opening her purse (of course).
Heres the thing... I knew it was a total scam, to play a manipulative trick on faithful saints as they are going to serve in the Lords house. I mean, what better place to better you chance of getting some free loot! RIGHT?!
So here's my question: What would YOU have done?
I felt bad brushing them off, but after we (Rach) gave BOTH of them a little change, I felt so much better. Not because I knew that they would use the spare change to pay for anything useful, but almost like a "washing of my (Rachel's) hands" of the situation... erring on the right side instead of the left. Of course, it's probably going to still count against me in heaven since I was kind of reluctant in helping them out. Plus not to mention that I have just publicized the "good deed" so now there is certainly no reward! Arrgh! I can't win for losing!
HOWEVER: On the way out of the underground parking garage, we had forgotten to get our parking validated, and thus needed a token or $10 to get out. We were already so far from the temple, and really needed to get back to our kids. As I tried to swipe the ticket to see what the damage was, a kind older woman in the car behind us rolled down her window and asked: "Do you need a token?" -- wow.
I think the savior saw this one coming.
